Sci-Fi/Fantasy Author Linda Andrews' New Manuever

Image
I'm thrilled to welcome Linda Andrews to my blog on her tour. She's a prolific sci-fi/fantasy author with yet another new release,   Blue Manuever: Book One of Extraterrestrial Security Program . Looks like she might have company: Linda Andrews: Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me on Bella's fabulous blog. Today, I'm interviewing Mary-- Rae: Hold it right there! (she bounces out of her chair) You will not tell anyone my ridiculous name. I'm Rae, not MaryJane, and definitely not Radiance. I'm Rae Hemplewhite. LA: Okay, Rae. Let's talk about your latest adventure. Rae (slowly sinking into her chair): Adventure? I don't call being infected with alien bugs, kidnapped and killed an adventure. I call it torture. In fact... Wait a minute. You're the author you did this to me. LA: Um, I actually think I just transcribed what you told me happened. Rae: No. No way! (Jumping from her seat, she plucks at her microphone

Looks Like I'm A Sweetie

Jessica Aspen of Paranormal Freebies nominated my blog for a The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award . Is there any doubt why? I know, right? So in keeping with the rules, I'm to list 7 random fact about myself. You already know how sweet I am, so listing that as one might be cheating. But here goes: 1. I suck at fiddle playing. I suck eggs, even though I'm being taught by a professional (with a music degree AND in a band) violinist. 'course I don't practice all that much. 2. I have a lot of kids. Which means my brain is mush. So blame them if you don't like my books. It's prolly their fault. 3. My favorite TV show of all time is a tie-between Buffy The Vampire Slayer and 24 . It's not that much of a stretch if you think about it. Both leads are anti-heroes, both destined to serve others to their own detriment...plus Keifer was a vamp in Lost Boys . 4. Since neither of those shows are on the air any longer (and I'm embarrassed to admit how m

Y'all Are Awesome!

Image
At the beginning of December, I committed to taking 20% of my total book sales and donating to Nashville's charity Strings For Hope--Curing Hunger One Note At A Time . Well, the numbers are in and your purchases have help to contribute $275! Strings For Hope handcrafts recycled instrument strings--from awesome guitarists, violinists, banjo and mandolin players, and bass players--and are accented by natural and vintage beads and baubles. No two are alike and each item has had music played on it . How cool is that? Here's the founder Laura (wearing a SFH bracelet and ring) with the moola. Woot! Over 90% of money goes to assist existing food programs both locally and globally. If you haven't heard of Strings For Hope before , don't worry. Go to their website (you'll be redirected to a site that handles the purchases) and buy a bracelet, ring, or necklace for any occasion. Help cure hunger...one note at a time!

The Apocalypse Is Nigh

Well...according to the Mayan calendar, the world ends December 21, 2012. That means I have a LOT of reading to squeeze in before then! Book reviewer Rosey of Rosey's Review is hosting a reading challenge, throwing down the gauntlet of twelve books in 12 months . Here are my twelve I'm committing to read: The Mortal Instruments series (3 books) Books 2 and 3 of the Chaos Walking series Books 2 and 3 of the Forest of Hands and Teeth series Awaken The Chemical Garden Trilogy I Am Legend And while we're talking about dystopian themes, I know of this one apocalypse series... Six full length novels for less than the price of a paperback. I mean, for shizzle! What will you be reading before the apocalypse?
