A Hero's Blog Hop G!veaway--It's All About Him (and a Kindle Fire)

Men . They're the real reason we read romance novels, savvy? Of course we all love strong female leads, fast-paced plots, and exotic locales...but we really like the heroic honeybun hotties who populate the pages of our favorite novels. As a romance author, I will often peruse celeb websites looking for someone who matches my mental images of my characters. It's never the other way around for me--I don't use a celeb as a hero. I just try to find someone who's a close match. Scott Speedman For my Apocalypse Babes series, one of the male lead characters-- Trent --really reminds me of the guy in this picture. Not the guy in Felicity --at least personality-wise, but the way this guy on the right looks --cranky and delish. In my book Kiss Me, I'm Irish , I imagine my moody, Irish musician hero Liam to look something like the guy below in all his blue-eyed, scruffy yumminess: Matt Bomer If you'd like a chance to meet either one of t...

Summer Lovin' G!veaway Blog Hop

Image
Ah, summer...sun, sand, surf. Or maybe for you it's more mountains, lakes, and fishing. Or mudding on an ATV obstacle course. Or sipping cafe au lait in Paris. However you spend your summer vacation, there's probably some reading involved. And that leads to the grand conundrum of 'what books to bring??' There's only so much room in a suitcase filled with flip flops, sunscreen, bug spray, fishing lures, and ATV helmets. In the spirit of that agonizing choice, I'm offering the blog hop winners a choice of prizes. If sweet paranormal romance is your bag, there's Kiss Me, I'm Irish . Or if gothic sci-fi floats your boat, I have a six book series called Apocalypse Babes . If 6 books seem too onerous (i.e a lot ), start out with the first book in the series: The Z Word . Which happens to be free for the month of July anyway. And if none of these titles toast your marshmallow, I'm offering the option of a $5 Amazon or Nook...

Looks Like I'm A Sweetie

Image
Jessica Aspen of Paranormal Freebies nominated my blog for a The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award . Is there any doubt why? I know, right? So in keeping with the rules, I'm to list 7 random fact about myself. You already know how sweet I am, so listing that as one might be cheating. But here goes: 1. I suck at fiddle playing. I suck eggs, even though I'm being taught by a professional (with a music degree AND in a band) violinist. 'course I don't practice all that much. 2. I have a lot of kids. Which means my brain is mush. So blame them if you don't like my books. It's prolly their fault. 3. My favorite TV show of all time is a tie-between Buffy The Vampire Slayer and 24 . It's not that much of a stretch if you think about it. Both leads are anti-heroes, both destined to serve others to their own detriment...plus Keifer was a vamp in Lost Boys . 4. Since neither of those shows are on the air any longer (and I'm embarrassed to admit how m...

My New Release: Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

Isn't that such an enticing question? How many Irishmen have gotten away with it? I'll bet LOTS. And Liam Jackson has the same effect on women, even one from another time. Emily Musgrave has been banished to a convent in Cornwall for what her great aunt calls wayward behavior. The year is 1813. She manages to escape her certain fate during a storm, but falls into a circle of stones and sees a piskie. And every Cornish girl knows what that means--big trouble. When she wakes up, she meets a strange blonde girl who has a way with a fiddle and her brother, a moody Dobro player on the run from unhappy fans. From escaping the convent to joining the musical duo to escape with their lives in the modern day, Emily embarks on a new world where hems are high and morals are low. But all she can think of is kissing the delicious Dobro player, Liam Jackson--even if it means it might send her back to the past. An Amazon reader had this to say: " I loved this story! Bella Stre...
