Closing the loop--two NEW RELEASES!

Image
Mid-Century Mayhem  finally gets some closure! Modern day Nashville and 1950s Detroit clash worse than an IKEA futon and a plaid Barcalounger when a free-spirited interior designer and a strait-laced automotive engineer find themselves in another time. Olivia Haugen and Kyle Daniels have no idea why they've ended up in 1954 Michigan, but it's probably not because of all the swank mid-century furnishings. Discovering the reason might have something to do with a wily salvage warehouse owner and her not-so-little shop of secrets. After ending on a cliffhanger, Kyle Daniels and Olivia Haugen finally get to finish their stories.  Presenting Books 2 and 3 in the Time Travel By Design series... In Book two,  Gothic Revival , Olivia Haugen and Kyle Daniels are barely on speaking terms in modern day Nashville—not helped by Kyle’s cranky aunt Constance whose apparent sole purpose in life is to see them walk down the aisle. Olivia and Kyle end up taking a trip down...

Image
http://www.nopatternrequired.com/ If you love Mid-Century... everything ...this is the blog to visit.  No Pattern Required features Mid-Mod culture, styles, fashions, crafts...and even books. My book Mid-Century Mayhem was featured there , but there's something here for everyone. http://www.midcenturymenu.com/ There's also a sister site called Mid-Century Menu and features the best (and worst) of recipes from a time when convenience foods were just coming on the market.  Blogger Retro Ruth uses her husband as a guinea pig when she whips up the vintage recipes. *gulp*. And if you can't quite stomach all that aspic with green olives, Ruth has several retro adult beverage recipes that will settle your mid-century nerves.  http://www.midcenturymenu.com/2015/03/pompano-1971-vintage-cocktail-friday/ So get your mid-mod on and visit these fabulous sites. I've spent many happy hours here, and I'm glad Mid-Century Mayhem has been a pa...

Go Indie Author and Enter To W!n!

Image
Just like independent films and music are full of hidden gems and new sights and sounds, it's the same with indie authors. Some have traditionally published and are wading into indie waters. Some have labored over magnum opuses that have gone unrecognized by the corporate publishing world with their eyes set firmly on the bottom line. And some are fresh and brand spankin' new. My indie offering is 3 copies of my sweet, paranormal romance Kiss Me, I'm Irish . Time-travel, fiddle tunes, and pixies dust--because sometimes a girl just needs a little magic in her life .  The book is available in print or any e-version. Please specify which version you prefer when you leave a comment to enter. Sponsored by I Am A Reader And Not A Writer and Krazy Book Lady . Just like you support indie films and music, try out an indie author--before they get famous, go all rhinestone and fur diva, and charge $30 a book :)

Dimensions...A Line, A Loop, A Tangle of Threads

Omigosh I am SALIVATING over this film, described as a 'vintage sci-fi' period piece. The premise is amazing ( If you could revisit one moment in your childhood, what would it be? ) and the circumstances of the filming also terribly intriguing. It looks lush and beautifully filmed with a great cast. As an indie author, I'm also interested in indie films.  Below the director talks a bit about production. The film is completed and looking for distribution. I'm hoping for a wide-enough release that I'll get to see it on the big screen. Can't wait! For more info, visit their website .

iRobotronic...The Apocalypse Babes Saga Continues...

Image
Time travel, wormholes, pink velour, Unresolved Sexual Tension...it all just keeps going in book three of my Apocalypse Babes series. The latest entry in this skiffy-rom-goth-com (don't ask) is called iRobotronic . Metaphors abound. Angst is ratcheted up. Pink velour gets torn. (See also books one and two ) And a couple of characters even make it out of the compound, but, Keanu wants to know, it is just a glitch in the Matrix? All this and more for a measly 99 cents. Check it out at Amazon and Smashwords . And don't forget to enter the contest by October 6th!

Jane Austen + Time Travel = Perfection

Image
" Lost in Austen is an ingenious reinvention of the classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, in which Jane Austen’s story is thrown off track by a very modern heroine, Amanda Price ( Jemima Rooper ). Amanda swaps places with Elizabeth Bennet ( Gemma Arterton ) and takes centre stage in the celebrated love story. Disillusioned with her life in London and disenchanted with her boyfriend, Amanda Price discovers Elizabeth Bennet in her bathroom. Soon she finds herself swapping places with Lizzie, and entering the ‘real’ fictional world of Pride and Prejudice . Amanda arrives at Longbourn, the home of the Bennet family, and realises she’s joined the action at the very start of the story, she gets to know the remaining Bennet sisters, and prepares to meet Mr Darcy ( Elliot Cowan ). How will she keep the greatest love story of all time on track when Elizabeth Bennet is stuck in the modern world? " I watched this show with absolute delight and it kept me guessing until th...
